You'll learn:

  • Beginner yoga poses to improve strength and flexibility, especially in the back, hips and shoulders.

  • Breathing exercises to relax and quiet your mind.

  • Meditation to improve your mood and general health.

$50 for course. Includes four 60-minute weekly classes and access to video recordings for practice at home during and after the course. Sign up with a friend and get $10 off.

The course will build over four weeks to teach you the basics and prepare you for more advanced classes.

You'll receive individualized guidance, tips on practicing at home, and even links to videos you can use at home to practice between classes.

About the Beginning Yoga Class

This yoga series teaches you the basics of yoga poses, breathing and meditation, with specific attention to progressing safely and connecting with your body and breath during yoga practice.

In the 4-Week Beginning Yoga class you will learn:

  • Standing, seated and lying down poses for strength and flexibility

  • Forward bending, basic twists and side-bending, and the beginning backward-bending poses for spinal health

  • Beginning breathing and meditation techniques to calm your mind, relax and focus

  • Guidance and videos for practicing yoga at home

You will learn the basics of yoga so you can incorporate the techniques in your life to remain calm in stressful situations, respond skillfully, and feel comfortable in your body.

You'll have access to video recordings with do-able yoga routines designed by a yoga teacher so you can practice what you've learned between your weekly classes at the studio.

In four weeks, you'll see big improvements in balance, strength, flexibility, breathing and stress levels, and you'll have the tools you need to practice safely in class and at home.

Cancellation policy If you are unable to attend a class, please let me know so I can share any notes or information about what is covered in the class and possibly recommend a make-up class for you.

About the Teacher

I have been teaching yoga for eight years in the Evansville area, first at local studios, then my own yoga studio, and now in a beautiful space at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. I do yoga for the many benefits it gives me, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, and I love that I've been given the opportunity to teach yoga to others.

I practice and teach in a lineage of yoga, known as viniyoga, a tradition which emphasizes appropriate application of yoga techniques to benefit students as individuals. My classes incorporate asana, or yoga poses, breathing and meditation.

I also teach students in private lessons and yoga therapy sessions, and I am a licensed Massage Therapist practicing in Evansville.
